As I create my textile fabric for pillows, this its what my screen printing table looks like. Patterns overlap, colors mix and layers of unexpected shapes and depths are created over months. I then add colors and shapes to the drop cloth piece based on the direction I want to see it go in, but the base is always formed organically.
These screen printed collages are 100% recycled reusing drop cloths and repurposing ink that would otherwise be rinsed down the drain. In some case, for my smaller pieces, I wrap the canvas around retired reclaimed wooden screens. No two pieces are alike and these one-of-a-kind monoprints hold a special place in my heart. Like rings on a tree, the layers tell a story of process and growth, where I've been and where I am going.
